Stephen Yee
Stephen YeeEnglish Pastor
Stephen is an alumni of both Arizona State University and Gateway Seminary. He has served as a pastor at Northwest Chinese Baptist Church since 2009. He feels extremely blessed to be a part of the ministry of NWCBC and to witness God change lives. Stephen loves spending time with his wife Debbie and four active children. He also loves playing sports, video games, music, and of course... JESUS!
Michael Lin
Michael LinChinese Pastor
Pastor Michael Lin joined NWCBC as the Chinese-speaking pastor in March, 2017. Previously, he served as an intern and associate pastor at First Chinese Baptist Church, Phoenix since 2012. Pastor Michael grew up in Taipei, Taiwan. He and his wife, Su-Ting, have been married since 1989, and they have two adult children. He received a Master of Theological Study from Gateway Seminary in 2017, and earned his M.S. in Computer Science from Arizona State University in 1990.
Valine Lim
Valine LimYouth Ministry Director
Valine is an alumna of Arizona State University. She transitioned out of corporate finance and feels privileged to serve and lead in youth ministry to grow disciples and help students deepen their relationships with Christ. She is currently a student at Gateway Seminary where she also works with faculty and students. She is thankful for volunteers (youth sponsors) who faithfully serve to disciple our next generation.
Jo Huang
Jo HuangChildren Ministry Director
Born and raised in Taiwan, Jo has been serving in various church ministries since the age of 11. She came to know the Lord personally at 13, and continues to stand in awe of how He works through ordinary people to fulfill His extraordinary purposes. With a grateful heart, Jo considers it a privilege to serve the children and families of NWCBC. Her prayer is that every seed of the Gospel planted will, in God’s perfect time, bear good and lasting fruit. Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Italian, she enjoys learning from diverse cultures and life experiences. Jo now lives in Arizona with her husband, three sons, a fish, and a house full of plants. She finds joy in life’s simple blessings—music, hiking, trying new foods, and the occasional gift of sleeping in.
Charis Tze
Charis TzeSecretary
Charis has served NWCBC as Secretary since May 2024. She grew up in Singapore and moved to the United States in November 2023. She in an alumna of Murdoch University who majored in Communications and Public Relations. She is grateful for the opportunity to serve the church.

Currently, I am involved with the youth ministry and participate in a small group. Both ministries humble, teach, and help me grow in several different ways. Small groups allow us to pray, learn and grow with each other.
Jeffrey Ong
Jeffrey Ong
I chose to devote my life to Christ and was baptized at Northwest in October 2006. I’ve been married to the love of my life, Jeannie, since December 2018 and we have a mischievous, but cute puppy named Petey. I currently serve on the ushering team, welcome team, and teach for adult Sunday school. I also assist with the preschool ministry with my wife.

I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior in summer of 1979 when I was 17 and was baptized two years later in Hong Kong. I moved to Phoenix in 1992. My wife Amy and I have two sons - Chris and Michael.

Serving the Lord has been one of my greatest pivotal moments in my journey. I am humbled by God’s grace and His ability to still surprise me at any given moment. I am thankful that through Him all things are possible.
Larry Yee

Our family life revolves around what Jesus has taught us. We learned to apply the New Testament teachings in all areas of our lives. I enjoy working with the kids on Christmas musicals and organizing our worship teams, teaching Sunday Bible Study and yes, I still enjoy leading hymns.
Stanley Mah
Stanley Mah
I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior at the age of twenty-two and I was baptized the following year. I have been a member of Northwest since its beginning. I answered the call to the Deacon Ministry many years ago and have been serving as a deacon ever since. I will continue to serve at NWCBC as God leads. Currently I am serving in the youth ministry.
